The New Year brings new business meetings, lunches, proposals, interviews, seminars…the list goes on. You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression and if you’re on the hunt for a new job it’s more than likely that you’re not going to want to break the bank for first impression business gear.
The good news is that you don’t have to. There are three wardrobe staples that can help you put together a winning look: a skirt, a well fitted suit jacket and pants. Neutral colors on the gray and beige spectrum will also give you more pairing options.

A little stylish self-expression goes a long way too, make it your own with a printed blouse and/or a statement necklace. For more of a minimalist business look, a neutral suit with a solid color blouse works great. Minimal accessories like a thin necklace, a watch and small stud earrings work well too.
One of the perks of being self-employed is having the freedom to dress according to my moods. For business meetings I usually rock a printed blouse with my suit or skirt and add a pop of color with my heels, nails and/or lipstick… a Boss-chic look that gives me the extra confidence boost I need to seal the deal.
I learned early on in my career(s) that confidence and an engaging personality play a big role in achieving first impression success, but a little stylish flair doesn’t hurt either.

This is very helpful. It’s easy to go overboard with accessories. Less is more. Thanks for the tips 😉
Exactly! You’re so welcome😊
